FSW The Federal Skilled Worker programs are designed to bring immigrants to Canada who can establish themselves economically in Canada. The Federal Skilled Worker program is part of the Economic Class, and this is managed by Express Entry program. All programs within Express Entry are highly competitive, utilizing Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to rank candidates. In order to qualify for FSW, a candidate must meet certain minimum requirements regarding your years of experience, level of education, age, and English or French language proficiency. To be eligible to apply, you must meet the program requirements. Federal Skilled Worker program requirements with six selection factors and score minimum 67 points: Language skills (max 28 points) You must take an approved language test to prove your language levels and get a minimum level of CLB 7 or NCLC 7 for 1 official language in all 4 areas. Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) for English Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) for French For second official language, you must meet the minimum level of CLB 5 or NCLC 5 in all 4 language areas. Education (maximum 25 points) Canadian secondary institution (high school) or Canadian post-secondary institution diploma, certificate, or credential Foreign educational credential, and an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) by an agency approved by IRCC to show it is equal to a completed Canadian secondary or post-secondary educational credential. Work experience (maximum 15 points) Have professional work experience of at least one continuous year of full-time paid work experience (at least 30 hours per week or an equal amount of part-time [15 hours per week for 24 months] ) in the last 10 years at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the National Occupational Classification Age (maximum 12) Age between 18-35 = 12 points Age 47 and older = 0 points Arranged employment in Canada (maximum 10 points) Paid, full-time work (minimum of 30 hours/week) that is: Not seasonal For at least 1 year LIMA or without LMIA if you are exempt Skill type 0 or skill level A or B of the NOC. Adaptability (maximum 10 points) Spouse or common-law partner’s CLB 4 level or higher in all 4 language abilities Education in Canada At least 2 academic years of full-time study (15 hours per week) Your spouse or common-law partner’s education in Canada At least 2 academic years of full-time study Past work experience in Canada Skill type 0 or level A or B Relatives in Canada Living in Canada 18 years or older and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident Settlement funds to support yourself and your family for six months after arrival in Canada Once selected from the Express entry Pool and awarded with an Invitation to Apply (ITA), candidates and their dependants must also undergo medical examinations and have security clearance.
